Crime is almost unknown in the future. Generations of strictly enforced laws and draconian penalties have created an obedient and law-abiding society, but no government is perfect. In a hierarchal society, there will aways be those with more power than others, and even those in the upper echelons are prey to human nature. To the rich and powerful, these laws are very convenient, to silence a political rival, to grease the wheels of business or, sometimes, just to keep the sheep in line. Because, regardless of the crime, there is only one penalty.

The Strangling Room.

It is almost a legend, a myth, because no one that has actually been sent there is ever seen again to talk about it. Which is why Jizzabelle doesn’t realize where she actually is. Her mind is still reeling from the sudden appearance of armed law enforcement officers who barged into the office and told her she was under arrest. Her coworkers were shocked and watched in dismay, as Jizzabelle was handcuffed, babbling about how this all had to be a mistake. Before she knew it, the men had ushered her into a van with dark, tinted windows and drove her to a squat, bland-looking building. Once inside, they had removed her cuffs and shoved her into an empty room.

It didn’t take long for panic to set in. The room was completely bare, no signs of plaques on the walls, no notification of where she was, rules to follow or even a chair, where someone could question or talk to her. Other than the sturdy door they had pushed her through, now locked, there was only a single window. It, too, was locked, but she thought she could hear movement just outside. She banged on the glass and called out, desperate to be let go, or even just understand why she was there. Then, a face abruptly appeared in the window.

At first, she felt a wave of relief, but that soon died. The man stared cooly back at her, observing her in a detached, almost alien, way. She pleaded with him to help her, but he merely stared, face inscrutable. Quickly, he pulled the blinds on his side of the glass and he was gone. Jizzabelle was shocked, fear like ice water washing over her, then the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. Spinning around, she saw that the man was in the room with her. He began to stalk her within the confined space. She retreated, staying out of reach, pleading for mercy, threatening to fight him, even removing one of her high-heels to brandish as a weapon.

Like a cornered animal, she lunged at the man, but, in her terror, she flailed wildly, her blows effortlessly batted away. He had been doing this job for a long time and grappled her with ease. With practiced precision, he looped a rope around her neck and wrestled her to the ground. Pulling tight, he maneuvered into a position of leverage, Jizzabelle’s mad thrashing ineffective, as she was brutally strangled. Her mouth gaped open, tongue protruding, as she felt her lungs crying out for air. Her eyes bulged, capillaries bursting, as the rough cord constricted about her neck. Her execution takes several agonizing minutes, as the man cruelly chokes the life from her.

Once she is dead, the man strips her naked, reduced to a piece of meat, without regard to her dignity. He hoists her corpse off the floor and drags it into another room, which contains a pile of dead bodies. They are all women and they are all naked, heaped together, limbs tangled in disarray. Jizzabelle is dumped with the rest of them, never to be seen or heard from again.
